You see, we are all a little mad here on this strange celestial rock we call Earth. Some are madder than others, but alas, the day continues into night and back to day again.
Today’s look is a bit extra. Leave it to me to decide that doing a complex facepaint on very little sleep would be a good idea… HA! So when I say that this look is … extra… I mean, it took me over three hours to create. Mind you, I did have a little late-night dinner break in the middle, but still.
This creation is something that has been cooking in my brain for a good long while. The look was supposed to debut last year during 13DoH2019, but alas, I ran out of spoons. It takes elements of a long-forgotten joker paint that I created as part of a collab back in 2015 and refreshed it a bit. I incorporated four different “inspirations” from my favorite jokers: Ledger, Hamill, Phoenix, and Romero.
To complete the look, I gave colored hair paste a go. The specific one I used was Good Dye Young’s Poser Paste in Kowabunga (a green). It was a bit of a learning curve, and it did flake off any time I touched my hair or let it down… but it did give a nice effect. Also, I should note that if you have dry hair – it’s probably best not to use this product as the amount of clay in this pomade-paste is reasonably high and will slurp up any moisture you have in your hair.
The final touches were to distress my vest and shirt. You all know how much I love texture, therefore distressing fabrics are right up my alley. I made a little walk-through on how I distressed/weathered my clothes over on my Patreon page, if’fins you’d like to take a gander at it.
