There once was a witch who ate nothing but candy corn and that is what she became.
She had a pet peacock who was her only friend, keeping her sane.
That was random, wasn’t it? I didn’t know how to open up today’s blog post, but I figured a rhyme is always a fun option. ANYWAYS, today’s 13DoH2k18 tutorial is actually a two-fer for your viewing pleasure. I wanted to do a look or two using only drugstore available makeup, and with all of the Wet ‘n Wild Fantasy Makers makeup out, I stocked up and gave it a go.
This post is not sponsored, btw. I wanted to mention that if you have the opportunity to pick up Wet ‘n Wild’s Halloween makeup in the six pan creme palettes or the rounds of white and black cream makeup – DO SO. I found them at Target, Walgreens, and even Five Below – which hopefully means you have more than just one place to find them in your area. For the price, you really can’t beat it, and they do blend out like a dream. Keep in mind that you will have to set them with translucent powder or coordinating eyeshadow colors otherwise they will smear off if you bump up against something.
Both looks are designed to be kid AND adult friendly, especially to those who don’t have a whole lot of time to get ready before heading out to a class party or out for a night of trick-or-treating. The runtime on both looks are about 20 minutes or so. As with all Halloween makeup looks, I recommend that you do a practice run before the day you’re going to be wearing (or applying) the makeup that way you know where everything is supposed to go.
—– THE PEACOCK —–
Let me start by mentioning that this makeup look was actually requested by a wonderful soul who I met at the dog park last year. (Pssst, hello K!) She mentioned something about a peacock look, and while I’ve done birds in the past, I’ve never attempted a peacock makeup before. Hopefully, this look is up to snuff.
The more I look at this makeup, the more I’m getting Black Swan vibes. Maybe that’s just me, and MAYBE that’s because I had Black Swan playing in the background while I was editing the video. Who knows… 🙂
I wanted to make the contours of this look beaklike or pointed somehow. To do that I brought the inner corned eyeshadow further down along the sides of my nose, drew the contours on the sides of my face a little more towards the corners of my mouth and didn’t round off the forehead/hairline contour as much as I would if I were doing a beauty look. These all help to bring the eye to the center of the face, if that makes sense.
If you can’t find the Ardell Fright Night Lashes feel free to use any floofy lashes you can find or slather some glitter on your eyelids.
—– The Candy corn Witch —–
What’s sweeter than corn syrup and looks like a pumpkin? Well, my candy corn witch of course – silly!
I feel like the first part of this 13DoH2k18 is a lot of “cutesy” makeup looks – but never fear, the gore is coming. HAHAHA. I need to get back on topic before I give too much away…
This witch turned out cuter than I thought she would. I think, just like my Spectacular Pink look, the freckles tie everything together and amp up the cute factor. Everything is better with faux (or real) freckles, don’t you think?
This look can be easily switched up with a different color combination, deepening things up with more browns /reds, or by adding glitter – if you are of the glitter persuasion. It’s a fairly simple makeup look, all told, but I think it would work for kids and adults alike.
With all my tutorials, past/present/future, you can always use what you have in your makeup stash already. Almost everything I use can be duped for any budget and if you ever have ANY QUESTIONS about what would be a good dupe for a certain product don’t ever be shy – just pop into my DMs and ask me.
Do you have any guesses as far as what tomorrows 13DoH look will have in store? Leave me a comment with your best guess and maybe if someone guesses correctly they’ll receive a little prize or something.
As always, if you recreate this look or share it and want me to see it – be sure to tag me @ohjaechaos on social media and use the hashtag #13DoH2k18 so I can absolutely see it!
