Weathered. Worn. Battle-scarred.
… and hungry for more.
This last look for my 13DoH2k18 adventure was one that was a bit of a challenge. I wanted to push myself and come up with something UNPLANNED and go through my cosplay closet to find any accessories I may need or want… thus the Warriddled Warlock was created. This look also took me about 20ish minutes to complete from start to finish.
Part of why I wanted to do a quick makeup look challenge is because I had a doctor appointment during the afternoon … and I needed to get a look recorded and edited before leaving. Yay for time crunches.
One of the perks of doing character, creature, and cosplay looks is that my costume bins contain options to pick and choose. I remembered that I had this iridescent raven feather capelet, originally for another 13DoH look idea, but that fell through… so yay props! The “W” is actually an “M” for an upcoming Mutant cosplay/tutorial look – actually I made a whole tray of scars for cosplays… *cough cough* HARRY POTTER *cough cough.*
Speaking of scars, in the tutorial you may see me apply two scars to my face, the W on my cheekbone right below my eye, and another one on my forehead right in-between my brows. That specific scar is supposed to look like the druidic symbol for “death”… but it ends up looking more like a Z, and all I could think of when looking at it (applied) was that “oh my gawd. Zorro stopped by.”
…. so after much (or little deliberation) off, it went. I think it looks a lot better in the end.
Pro tip: If you are wanting to use Mehron’s rigid collodion and want it to last – be sure to clean the skin with alcohol and remove any oils or makeup before applying. Also, if you have a very expressive face or are planning on putting the scars on very mobile areas – be prepared to minimize your facial movement because, over time, the collodion will unstick and start to peel up.
