The night is still
“Halloween” by Siouxie and the Banshees
And the frost, it bites my face
I wear my silence like a mask
And murmur like a ghost
“Trick or treat”
“Trick or treat”
The bitter and the sweet
In tonight’s delving into the mysterious enigma that is #13DoH2k19, I decided back when I was planning all this madness to throw in a wild card – a little punky wild card.
Enter Siouxie Sioux, punk icon, and the distinct voice of a growing feminist generation who after many decades, is still kicking ass and taking names.

My wardrobe is fairly random, thanks to all the characters and cosplays that I create. I never had a goth or punk phase growing up, mostly because I wasn’t really “allowed” to, but oh well. Once I was living on my own and making my own money, I did buy whatever style called my name at the time – and they always seemed to be on the clearance rack (yay, savings). Plus, I did end up MC’ing a few alt events back in the day, so I had a few punky accessories lying around.
While Siouxie Sioux did wear color and bold prints from time to time, her iconic look tended to lean more into the all-black clothing region.
Black pants? CHECK. Black mesh tops with a black tank top? DOUBLE CHECK. Some punk-y accessories? YUP, have those. A black jean vest? Got that, too. Lastly, stompy black boots? OF COURSE!
The only thing that I didn’t have too many options for were the necklaces… I tend not to wear thicker chains, so I didn’t have any to add to the costume. I opted to wear one of my old hematite necklaces and a choker.

Also, I just realized that I rendered the video without my Patrons’s names at the end. So I’m giving them a big shout out here on the post! THANK YOU TO THE FOLLOWING AMAZING HUMAN BEINGS: Katelin, Charlie, Rebecca, Jordan, Ann, and Becky!

This look is monochromatic in everything, except the lips, with a very exaggerated cheek contour – or optional intense blush. Oh, and those larger than life and bolder than Doritos eyebrows.

There are a few photos, especially the ones that I shared on Instagram, that I color-graded to look more “in sync” with Punk at the time. I love matching the mood of a look to color, and for this, I think it really worked out. I added a smattering of color-graded and IRL images to this post so you can get a feel for how the makeup realistically looked.
