Do you ever have pieces of clothing that just inspire you? I bought this celestial kimono/shawl thing on Amazon at the end of December, and I think it’s beautiful… beautiful enough to be inspired to do a semi-matching makeup look. Oh, my!
For starters, here is the shawl/kimono that I found on Amazon, CLICK HERE FOR THE LINK.
My only “complaint” with the shawl is that the inside fabric is whitish and it can sort of throw off the whole look if it’s freely flapping in the wind all willy-nilly. I always end up purchasing shawls or kimonos a size or two bigger, but that is a personal preference. This shawl is already oversized slightly, so instead of a large, which is what I normally wear, I ordered an XL, and it fits pretty perfectly.
Growing up, my mom used to have a celestial blanket with similar gothic style, the only difference being the colors… which gave me all the reminiscing feels when I saw it on Amazon (during a late night amazon peruse). Bonus points being that it was also reasonably priced so we will call it a win-win all around.
On a related note, I also was REALLY wanting to get my hands on the Blackmilk Clothing’s Invisibility Cloak Kimono – but that thing sold out so fast. Le sigh. Also, WHY IS BLACKMILK SO FRAKKIN’ SPENDY???? /pouty face.
—– THE LOOK —–
This look made me feel pretty. I, honestly, don’t usually create looks that are incredibly dark around the lash line, but this look seriously made me consider rethinking that decision. The dark, smokiness around the lashes really made my Pinky Paradise Gemini Night Series lenses POP.
Side tangent about the lenses: I have been on the lookout for “natural looking” light colored lenses that realisitically change my eye colors into something believable. These and the PP Frosty Green lenses are the ones that have worked the best thus far – AND LOOK REAL. Since I have the whole Gemini Night Series collection, would you, my dah’lings, be interested in an in-depth review with pictures? Let me know in the comments, pretty please.
I also enjoyed creating a look that is both “pretty” and has some interesting texture to it – i.e.: the little star doodles I drew. They are just bold enough to pop if you’re looking for them but they also can blend in. But the thing I think I like the most is adding Tarte’s Lucky Penny Amazonian Clay Pot Liner right to the center of the lid. It just makes the eyes stand out… or at least I like to think so.

This makeup was also my first look trying my best to use all of the Melt Cosmetics’ Rust Stack. I’m a little burnt out of “warm-neutral” palettes, although I do think this one is pretty versatile… and I love me some grungey shades. Would you guys like me to do a full review on the Melt Stack that I own – which is all except the newest Baby Girl stack? I have already taken pictures/swatches of the LE Gemini palette because I am an absolute sucker for those colors – and I wanted to make sure that I got a few good looks with it before I give you my thoughts. I know that it’s currently out of stock, but I don’t want to hurry things along without testing things out thoroughly just to “get in on that trending uptick.”

With that, thank you guys for reading this little (and fairly late) blog post. I hope you all are having an excellent day/night and can’t wait to hear from you all in the comments… hint hint wink wink.
