Okie dokie artichokie! I wanted to formally let everyone know here on my little corner of the internet that … /drumroll, please…
I HAVE OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED MY PATREON PAGE! Dun dun nah naaaaaaaaaaah !
Honestly, I’ve been wanting to have a Patreon page for the last couple of years now but haven’t felt comfortable with my self-confidence as a content creator to do so. It may sound weird but it’s true.
Nowadays, with Instagram changing its metrics and algorithms every other day that ends in Y and YouTube actively working against content creators by not sharing their videos to those who subscribe to them – even with hitting “the bell” – it’s getting harder and harder to produce content that people actually see. And that sucks for everyone. Small creators. Big creators. Random folks who just want to see puppy videos – EVERYONE.
Most of 2018 I was consistently worrying about numbers, metrics, and that stupid follower count… but all it did was discourage me because – especially on Instagram – my page is still dropping followers faster than Luke chugging down Bantha Milk. [Heh, that’s a weird contrast isn’t it?] Those numbers really made me internally devalue my creative worth – and while my videos were improving in quality and I’ve been putting out my best makeup and cosplay work to date… those numbers made me believe that nobody gave a frak. I felt like another raindrop in the ocean of content creators… and I have realized that I just need a change of venue.
Enter PATREON!
Within the Patreon platform, I don’t have to worry about them trying to gate off my content with imaginary metrics. I control my content. I can share exclusive content and even

I know there are dah’lings out there enjoy my work AND want to see more of it.
I know that my content and skill are only going to get better as time progresses.
And I know that my weird, wacky slice of the internet is worth it.
… I just need to adapt and grow – and I hope that YOU will join me.
What will this mean for my current content on the internet – including YouTube, Instagram, and the BLARGHHHH?
Honestly, not much will change to the general public’s content. I will still be releasing videos, blog posts, makeup tutorials, looks for the ‘Gram, etc. The only thing that will change is that my Patrons will be getting more CHAOS in their life. Depending on which tier they choose to support, they will get access to my YouTube videos early, Patreon exclusive videos, we will get to hang out in our monthly [exclusive] live stream hangout, monthly wrap-up posts, BTS content – especially for cosplay builds, and some will even get good ‘ole fashioned snail mail from yours truly.
I know not everyone has the means to become a Patron. That’s why I’m not pay-gating off all of my future content. At the same time, I want to make it worth-while for those who choose to support this crazy little Chaos on the internet. Every little bit helps – even if that means you choose to support my art by sharing my work with your friends.
How will Patreon make my content… better?
Having Patrons with their encouraging and financial support, I will be able to gradually improve my setup and content over time. I will use those monthly pledges for things like picking up supplies for Patreon-exclusive content, having the ability to pick up supplies for monthly cosplay quests, upgrades to my technical equipment, helping to pay all those little (annoying) admin fees like hosting and the like, etc… Also, if let’s say there is a new makeup palette that enough of my Patrons want to see a review on, I could use some of those funds to pick that up and create more content – like full, in-depth reviews with multiple makeup tutorials.
Now, I need to stress that I’m not expecting to get ALL the Patrons all at once. I know things like this take time and I also realize that folks have bills and other important expenses to pay. Please don’t ever feel pressured to become one of my Patrons. If you are in a place where you would like to pledge some financial support my way – be it $1, $5, $15, or $30 – I would be grateful and it would help me grow my content, but money isn’t everything. I am beyond thrilled and have all the warm fuzzy feelings when folks simply take the time out of their crazy, hectic days to look at my content or comment on a YouTube video or blog post.
Also, I’d be flat out lying if I told you that I wasn’t nervous… because I am. I am so friggin nervous. Putting my hat out there in the world of Patreon opens a bit of vulnerability for me – as a creator. I’m so self-conscious of my work with just a dash of hyper-critical-ness (it’s a word, as of now) and I have this fear that no one will care. I know that that thought is just the stupid little head gnargles talking – but still. I’m nervous about finally saying “HEY! Lookie here! I just launched my Patreon. Do you think I’m cool enough?…”
With that, here’s my official Patreon announcement thingy. I’m already in the process of putting more content up on my Patreon Page – particularly early access to my 2018 Favorites video (which will go live to the masses tomorrow) and a poll to help decide what the exclusive video/tutorial will be this month.
Have a question? Ask me all the things in the comments below! If you’ve already signed up to become one of my Patrons – I am so grateful that you’re taking a chance on a little more Chaos in your life.
