The winning option for January was “A makeup look with WINTRY VIBES.” Originally, I was planning to do a Winter Fae for them but since the weather straight up didn’t cooperate in time I opted for something icy, cold, and glamorous. The thought process for this look was centered around cool tones and glaciers. Glaciers have a very interesting blue tinge to them and can have, at times, black striations or inclusions. One of these days, I would love to have the opportunity to see them in person. Hopefully…
Side tangent: Climate change is real and if we don’t adjust (on a planetary scale) we will lose these majestic ice structures for a very, very long time – if not forever. I really hope that my future kids and grandkids will still have them around in their lifetimes…

With glaciers being my main source of inspiration – I wanted to create a look that wasn’t bright or in your face so I opted to use muted blues and grays with just a speckling of white here and there. Since I was trying to get as much of a wintry vibe across as possible, I applied the blush across my cheekbones and nose to simulate a wind-burned look. I do think that adding the snow freckles helped to tone down the blush – HOORAY for that because it was a bit intense.
