With Christmas concluded and most other December holidays winding down, I wanted to share something a little soft and glowy, perfect for those “end-of-season” parties and gatherings. Or New Year’s Eve since that’s a few days away.
HEADS UP: I WILL BE GOING LIVE ON YOUTUBE THIS EVENING AT 8 PM ET AND WOULD LOVE IT IF YOU WOULD JOIN ME. CLICK HERE TO HEAD TO THE LIVE STREAM URL.
I’ve always been of two minds when it comes to creating a makeup look: either simple and luminous or in-your-face colorful and avant-garde. I love to play with colors and use them in my looks, but sometimes the best way to use color is to be sneaky about it. Add it like a little kiss of surprise. MUWAH!
Enter this simple, soft, and glowy makeup look…
Ever since I received the new-ish Milk Makeup highlighter in PR back in October, I have found myself reaching for it for almost every look I create. The highlighter is an absolute dream to work with, and yes, I know I’ve gloated about it before – but it’s that good. “But don’t take MY word for it…”

See? Super simple and yet elegant.
If you have a darker complexion, adjust your highlighter shade accordingly and build up a little more of the “Gig” eye pigment from Milk. You could also go for a deeper bronze or shimmery ochre cream pigment.
My favorite part of this look is the little peekaboo color on the lower waterline. It’s subtle yet surprisingly eyecatching. Heh, get it? You can switch this color up to anything you want. Got brown eyes? Try a purple or blue eyeliner. Blue eyes? Try a copper eyeliner. Honestly, use whatever color in the waterline draws your attention the most.
Anyways, I’m going to hop off for now and get a few things done before I go live this evening. I hope I will get to hang out with a few of you awesome folks!
In the meantime, let me know how your holiday season is going. Did you get anything cool for Christmas? What’s your favorite holiday snack? Did it snow where you are? You know the drill, tell me all the things down in the comments. Or don’t. 🙂
PS: be sure to subscribe/follow this little blog because I will have a FEW giveaways over the next week and a half, and they will all be hosted EXCLUSIVELY on my blog.
