So, there’s a tag floating around the social medias called #artvartist /#artistvart and I think it is amazing. It’s basically to showcase the artist behind the art. I follow several traditional and digital artist, and they make my IG feed that much brighter with their creativity. Then I saw the tag and a lightbulb went off in my brain… why not make one for those of us of the makeup and cosplay variety!
…so I made one.

Here’s how the tag works:
- Select 8 of your more recent, favorite looks.
- Select / take a bare faced, el natural selfie.
- Merge them in a 1:1 ratio collage

Makeup is my armor. It is my escape from the more stupid aspects of my chronic illnesses / spoonie-life, and I love the fact that I can change my face into different characters, creatures, and slap on ALL THE COLORS makes me happy. It has given me more confidence and spunk – which I had lost for a time after I got sick. I have learned to love myself and all my wacky faces, again. Mr. Chaos thinks it’s a ‘hoot’ because I just wander out of my office/makeup room looking like another person (sometimes), various cosplays, and misc. creatures. It’s fun. This whole makeup journey is far from over, and I am so grateful for all of the friends that I have gained through the makeup and beauty community.
