What’s this, two skincare reviews IN A WEEK!? Who am I? Oh right, I’m a girl who digs skincare. Tee hee hee.
I’ve meant to write this post for a while (literally months), then Farmacy released their Clean Bee cleanser, and I wanted to give that a go because it was the final little bee in my Honey Collection bonnet. So here we are, five mini-reviews for your viewing pleasure. Ready?
First, let me share a little bit about the brand before diving headfirst into all the products. Farmacy launched in 2015 as a Farm to Face beauty brand specializing in good-for-you skincare that utilizes their patented and unique Echinacea Purpurea, GreenEnvy™. The brand is clean, cruelty-free, environmentally-conscious, bee-loving, and they work with two farms who grow/harvest all of the Echinacea Purpurea that they use in their products. Pretty cool, huh?
I read up on the brand before writing this little blog post, and I thought it was so cool that their brand LITERALLY came together in nine months from conception to release, debuting in the Fall of 2015. That’s pretty insane even by beauty world standards. If you aren’t familiar with the brand yet or want to know a little more – head over to their About Section or read up with this handy little article from Influenster.
If you are vegan, you’ll probably not be gravitating towards this collection mainly because one of their main ingredients is honey, albeit honey harvested from very well-taken care of, happy little bumble bees – but it’s still honey nevertheless. Honey is a fantastic byproduct, by the way. It has incredible healing properties, doesn’t spoil, and tastes heavenly drizzled over biscuits… but I may be getting off track here.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand… Farmacy’s Honey Collection currently consists of FIVE products: the Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask, Honey Savior Repair Salve, Honey Drop Lightweight Moisturizer, Honey Butter Beeswax Lip Balm, and Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser. They also have a brand new Honeymoon Glow AHA Resurfacing Night Serum that should be releasing soon… but it’s not out yet. I’m sure I’ll be doing a review on it because it’s on my list to buy once it releases. I’m so ready for it. Ugh.

Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask
Price: $38 USD
Includes:4.1 oz / 117 g
Available: Farmacy’s website, Sephora, Cult Beauty, and occasionally on QVC
Released: August 2016
I picked this product the week it launched and have since gone through THREE jars of the stuff. Honey Potion is a warming face mask that has saved my face so many times. It contains honey, propolis, royal jelly and of course GreenEnvy™. The mask is pretty thick in the container, BUT once you apply it to your face, it smooths out and feels great for the 20 minutes (or so) you have it on. If you have sensitive skin, do a test patch on the inside part of your wrist to see if it works for you. Remember, you can always get a sample at Sephora before you splurge.
I adore the packaging for the mask. The box that it comes in is quasi origami-like and has tons of information about the brand and product. The mask has a wooden screw top lid that secretly contains a magnet that the little stainless steel spatula it comes with stays right on top when not in use. The jar itself is thick glass… and while I have dropped it a few times without it breaking, I wouldn’t recommend throwing it around if you can help it.
Upon application, you should massage the mask around your face avoiding your eyes, mouth, and nostrils. It goes from a thick yellow gloop to a creamy, foamy mask and will stay that way until you wash it off. If you do multiple masks in one go, which I do sometimes – I would recommend always finishing with this one as it will increase blood flow and boost hydration. My favorite combo is first going in with LUSH Mask of Magnaminty followed up by Honey Potion. With all masks, I recommend taking a silly self-portrait while you have it on… because reasons.

All-in-One Skin Repair Salve
Price: $34 USD
Includes: 1.6 oz / 46g
Available: Farmacy’s website, Sephora, Cult Beauty, and occasionally on QVC
Released: December 2016
This salve is definitely the diamond in the ruff. There are TONS of different uses for it and if you are a working MUA, YOU NEED TO HAVE THIS IN YOUR KIT. Honey Savior is described as “An antioxidant-rich, multipurpose balm brimming with honey to calm, nourish, and hydrate dry, cracked skin,” and like Honey Potion, it contains honey, propolis, royal jelly and GreenEnvy™.
As someone who is prone to have very dry skin, this lovely tube is a lifesaver all year around. I put it on my elbows, hands, knees, face, sunburns, stubborn acne, chapped lips, razor burns, cuticles, etc… AND if I want to incorporate it into the beauty-side-of-things I love mixing this with powder/cream blush to sheer it out creating a watercolor effect, or just popping it on the high points of the face for an extra dewy glow. It is a little thick but a little goes a long way and the product does heat up with your body heat.
The only downside I’ve found with this product isn’t the formula – it’s the packaging. Out of the three tubes I have purchased, two have had sealing issues around the folded/sealed area at the top. Also, when dispensing product, if you squeeze too hard on the aluminum packaging you will get more product that you need… which is wasteful. My workaround is to transplant some into one of those travel-friendly airtight pump containers you can find on Amazon or Sephora. That way I can get just as much as I need without wasting any. I also keep a few of the little sample sized foil packets in my bag or purse, just in case.

Lightweight Moisturizer
Price: $45 USD
Includes: 1.7 oz / 50g
Available: Farmacy’s website, Sephora, Cult Beauty, and occasionally on QVC
Released: June 2017
Honey Drop is “A long-lasting, lightweight moisturizer with Echinacea GreenEnvy™ Honey, Triple Hyaluronic Acid Complex, and cupuaçu butter beads to keep skin smooth and soft all day long.” A++ packaging, a light wildflower scent and for anyone with normal to combo skin, I would say this is right up your alley.
As a fan of Hyaluronic Acid, this packs quite a punch – but I’ve found it’s not for me… hence why I haven’t purchased the full sized jar yet. It contains tiny cupuaçu butter beads which melt into the skin as you massage/work the product into your face – and they threw me the first few times I tried it. They wouldn’t sink in as fast as I would have hoped and unfortunately pilled up some of my other skincare a few times. I gave it to my SIL who loved it so … don’t take my word for it.
While I love the concept of this moisturizer, I didn’t find myself using it daily. It was ridiculously moisturizing… but almost TOO moisturizing so it would break up my foundation/primer if I wore it during the day. Keep in mind this is coming from the girl with hella dry skin… STRANGE, RIGHT!? As a HUGE fan of the Honey Potion and Honey Savior, I thought this would be right up my alley but alas, no. At night, it’s pretty good – although I am hard pressed to move away from my Sunday Riley Tidal / Luna combo.

Beeswax Lip Balm
Price: $10 USD
Includes: 0.13 oz / 3.6g
Available: Farmacy’s website, Sephora, Cult Beauty, and occasionally on QVC
Released: January 2018
Who can say no to a trusty lip balm? Not me. One of the downsides to being chronically ill is that my lips are chapped ALL THE FRIGGIN TIME… so I go through and try lip balms and lip salves a lot. The Honey Butter lip balm is a lovely little tube of hydration. It’s “a 100 percent natural lip balm and primer in one that helps to moisturize, condition, protect, and prep lips with Echinacea GreenEnvy™ honey, beeswax, and cupuaçu butter.”
I may be weird but when I apply it I feel a slight warming sensation from it… and it makes my lips happy. The packaging is sleek, and the cap makes a little clicking sound when it’s fully seated, so you know that your lip balm is securely closed. There is NOTHING worse than reaching in your bag or pocket only to find that a lip balm tube has come undone and it’s all over everywhere, under your nails, etc…
The formula isn’t as creamy as Bite Beauty’s Agave Lip Balm, but I actually prefer that it has a little more OOMPH to it – and it holds together better during the summer. In a comparison of cost per ounce, you get more product with the Honey Butter vs. the Agave Lip Balm, so that’s cool.
—– Clean Bee —–
Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser
Price: $28 USD
Includes: 5 oz / 150 mL
Available: Farmacy’s website, Sephora, Cult Beauty, and occasionally on QVC
Released: April 2018
Clean Bee is the latest in my Farmacy Honey Collection, and I must say it is one of the gentlest cleansing formulas out there. Out of the five products, Clean Bee has the most prevalent “floral” scent, but it is nowhere near as pungent as the Hydra Zen moisturizer that I talked about last week. I’ve been using this cleanser for about two weeks now, and it is right up there with my Milk Makeup Matcha Cleansing Stick. I have noticed that it doesn’t aggravate my facial redness and my skin feels clean but not so clean that it’s tight and impersonating Lady Cassandra O’Brien.Δ17 from Doctor Who.
I love the packaging of this product. It is shower friendly, non-wasteful, and reasonably minimalistic design-wise. The nozzle is also very travel-friendly because you have the option to “lock” the pump just by twisting it to the side. SMART DESIGN, FTW! If you have sensitive skin and are on the hunt for a gentle cleanser, give this a look-see. I will be repurchasing this when I run out.
With the exception of the Honey Drop moisturizer – I LOVE THIS COLLECTION!
There are very few skincare brands that I’ve tried that have had THIS many hits versus misses. So, shout out to Farmacy for making all these awesome products. If you’re curious, they do offer other products, and some of my favorites are Bright On Massage-Activated Vitamin C Mask (review coming in September) and their Coconut Gel Sheet Masks. If you were to pick up one product out of this collection – get the Honey Savior Salve. It’s amazing.
I’m very picky when it comes to reviewing skincare, and I don’t understand folks/influencers/bloggers who make first impressions posts/videos with skincare products – which is why it takes me at least a month of trying out products to make sure that I give you a 100% honest and thorough review.
Have you tried these products yet? If so (or not) let me know all about it in the comments below. Are there skincare product you love that you think I’d love? Do the thing and let me know.
With that, don’t forget to stay positive and be awesome…. because YOU ARE AWESOME!
